FAQ

Frequently asked

The most direct answers on sources, content, data, and reporting boundaries.

Are Manga Furu and MangaFuru the same app?

Yes. MangaFuru is the app's name; Manga Furu is the spaced spelling of the same iPhone and iPad reader. This is its official website. Find the official MangaFuru App Store listing or read the product overview.

Where can I download MangaFuru?

Download it from the official App Store page. MangaFuru currently requires iOS 18.6 or later.

Can I read my own EPUB, PDF, and CBZ files?

Yes. MangaFuru includes local reading and can open EPUB, PDF, and CBZ files on your device or local network, with resume preserved. These are files you supply yourself — the app hosts and distributes no content.

Does MangaFuru work with my own Komga server?

Yes. MangaFuru can connect to a Komga server you host yourself and read the library you organized there. You deploy and manage Komga; MangaFuru acts only as the reader and hosts neither your server nor its content.

Does MangaFuru provide manga content or a list of sources?

No. MangaFuru only shows content you add yourself. It does not host, sell, or distribute manga and ships with no official catalog. Your files, connections, and content remain yours to choose and manage.

What are Sources and Repositories? Do I need them right away?

A Source is where MangaFuru reads content from, such as local files or your Komga. A Repository is only a list of external source connectors available to install; it contains no manga. You do not need a repository for EPUB, PDF, CBZ, or Komga. Use one only when you already know which external source you want to add. See Repositories and external sources for details.

Can MangaFuru guarantee a given source keeps working?

No. Third-party sources can change, go offline, require login, trigger verification, restrict regions, or change their terms. MangaFuru can help fix app-side problems, but it has no control over third-party sources.

How do I report a bug?

Use Report an issue, with the area, app version, iOS version, device, source host, steps to reproduce, expected result, and actual result. Do not paste full cookies, tokens, credentials, or paid content.

Can I post diagnostic logs publicly?

Review them first. If they contain private tokens, full cookies, account details, personal data, or paid content, do not post them publicly. Public issues can be seen by anyone.

Does the website use analytics or ads?

The website may use web analytics (such as Google Analytics) and display ads (such as Google advertising); these third-party services may set cookies or collect usage data. Where prior consent is required, we'll present a cookie-consent prompt before enabling them — see the Privacy Policy for details. The site is served from GitHub Pages, and GitHub may still process standard server logs and login state under its own policies. Your in-app library and reading data stay mainly on your device.

Can I request support for a specific source?

You can report app-behavior problems, but please don't use issues as a source-recommendation list or content index. If a source requires login, authorization, or specific setup, confirm you have the right to use it first.

Where is my data stored? Do I lose it on a new phone?

Your library, progress, lists, and preferences live mainly on your device — there is no MangaFuru account. Back up anything important yourself; reinstalling, switching devices, or system issues can change or lose local data.
